First of all, Happy Lunar New Year to those of you who celebrate it 🧧! This year I’m not in Vietnam during Tet; but I’m still closely following on social media to see how friends and families are preparing for and enjoying it. I’m only a tiny bit jealous of all of you.
This week has been a bit crazy for me with nothing related to Lunar New Year. I had multiple appointments during the week, which took away a chunk of time every day and I found myself travelling around and catching up with work all the time. My week was like this: Monday - work and house viewing and work; Tuesday - travelling to the north of Netherlands and work; Wednesday - work and driving lesson and work; Thursday - work and house viewing and work. What made the matter worse is that there were a lot of train disruptions involved.
Nevertheless, it’s Thursday now and I’m looking at a relatively empty calendar tomorrow. In the spirit of this holiday, I thought it would be fun to share my resolutions for 2024. I have not had any resolutions since 2019 for multiple reasons. But this year, I have some actionable goals I want to achieve, so I decided to write a list again.
On December 31st 2023, I logged on to my Notion account (a productivity app that I was using a lot pre-Covid), and checked my list of 2019. It was quite interesting to see how far I was; some goals I attained long ago and some are still left intact. I made a decision that I wanted to continue this practice from now on. Otherwise, I would just forget what I had hoped for in the past and hence cannot really say if I’m progressing in the direction I had wanted or not.
This is a direct screenshot from my Notion list that I made a few weeks ago, with the financial number edited out to keep my wealth (or rather, lack thereof) a secret. As you see, some goals are a bit vague because I don’t want to put pressure on myself, but I still note them there because I want to work on them, regardless of how far I will get.
Do you have any resolutions for 2024?
Before you go, enjoy this song that I’ve been listening nonstop this week: A Night To Remember - beabadoobee ft Laufey. I’m a bit late on the Laufey train but I’ve been listening to her tracks on repeat recently. My favorite is this track with beabadoobee: I’m obsessed with the melody, the lyrics and the choreography in the MV.
Next week issue will be about Prague, or my favorite autobiography books, or something else entirely. Meanwhile, enjoy Lunar New Year 🎊🌸!
